6 key ideas, each explained in our own words.

Tirukkural

  1. IDEA 1

    Three aims of life

The Kural is organised around virtue, wealth and love, each pursued in the right way. Wealth and pleasure gained without virtue don't last.

  2. IDEA 2

    Speak kindly

Using harsh words when kind ones are available is like picking unripe fruit when ripe fruit is at hand.

  3. IDEA 3

    Gratitude

Help given at the right moment, however small, is worth more than the world. Never forget a kindness.
