Sardar Patel: Unity and Civil Service
- IDEA 1
Integrating the nation
Patel brought over 500 princely states into the Indian Union through persuasion, negotiation and firmness where needed. Unity was built step by step, not assumed.
- IDEA 2
Steel frame of India
He defended an all-India civil service that would be neutral, competent and free to give frank advice. A strong state needs officials who can say no to their ministers.
- IDEA 3
Practical leadership
Patel was known for decisive action and attention to detail. Vision matters, but so does the hard work of execution.
