Who Moved My Cheese?
- IDEA 1
A fable about change
Johnson tells a simple story about two mice, Sniff and Scurry, and two little people, Hem and Haw, who live in a maze and search for cheese. The cheese represents what we want in life, such as a job or relationship, and the maze represents where we look for it.
- IDEA 2
Change happens
One day the cheese disappears. The mice quickly accept the change and search for new cheese, while Hem and Haw complain. The story uses the two groups to show how differently people can respond to the same change.
- IDEA 3
Some resist change
Hem refuses to accept the loss and waits for the cheese to return. His resistance keeps him stuck. The story shows that waiting for the past to return only costs more time and leaves the person worse off.
