Daily Rituals
- IDEA 1
Great creators had daily routines
Currey collects short accounts of the daily routines of over a hundred writers, artists, composers and thinkers. He shows how they organised their days to make time for creative work.
- IDEA 2
Some worked early, some late
Currey shows that some creators did their best work early in the morning, while others worked late at night. There was no single right time. Currey presents these as personal choices that suited each person's life and temperament.
- IDEA 3
Walking aided thought
Currey describes how many creators, such as Charles Dickens and Beethoven, took long walks as part of their routine. In his account, they treated the steady movement as a way to clear the head and let ideas come.
