Eat That Frog!

  1. IDEA 1

    Do your biggest task first

Tracy uses the image of eating a live frog first thing in the morning: after that, nothing worse can happen all day. Your frog is your most important, most difficult task, and doing it first builds momentum and confidence.

  2. IDEA 2

Plan the day before it begins

Tracy argues that every minute spent planning saves much more time in doing. He recommends writing a list the evening before, so you start each day knowing exactly what matters instead of reacting to whatever comes along.

  3. IDEA 3

Apply the 80/20 rule to tasks

Following the 80/20 rule, Tracy suggests that a small share of your tasks produces most of your results. Before starting work, he asks readers to identify those few high-value tasks and resist the urge to clear easy, unimportant ones first.
